Their bottom line is that there is no coorelation between aging and periodontal problems. The study used the veteran's , UCLA's, to test 110 patients over 70 years old with at least two teeth present. The highest percentage of teeth remaining were the canine's followed by the mandibular incisiors. Mean pocket depth was 1.65mm suggesting these resiliant teeth survive because of this decrease in pocket depth.
