Principles of Antibiotic Therapy

Antibiotics are often beneficial and even lifesaving in medical and dental therapy. The decision to use antibiotics must be based on:
  • a thorough medical history
  • a thorough dental history
  • physical examination
  • intra-oral examination
  • extra-oral examination
  • laboratory data
  • a diagnosis

Systemic Antibiotics
