| Note that the vesicle is entirely intraepithelial and its bottom is lined by the basal layer of epithelial cells. This type of epithelial lesion is characteristic of PV. Also note islands of detached epithelial cells within the vesicle. These loose cells are known as Tzanck cells. | ![]() |
