This study examine the incidence and severity of postoperative pain after GV using 1 no-eugenol perio dressing ( Coe pak ) and 2 eugenol perio dressings ( Wondr pak and Nobetec).
Materials and Methods
- 76 GV with Coe pak, 64 with Wondrpak and 86 with Nobotec.
- Randomized study.
- Postoperative pain was evaluated with a 100mm Visual Analogue Scale over 5 days starting right after surgery.
Results
- No pain was reported by 22% of patients after Coe Pak, by 23.4% after Wondrpak, and 30% after Nobotec.
- Analgesics were taken by: 13.2% after Coe-Pak, 3.1% after Wondrpak and 1.2% after Nobotec.
- Mean score was higher after Coe-Pak 2 than Nobotec after surgery until the morning of the 3rd day.
- Coe-Pak and Wondrpak: Coe Pak was higher 3-9 hours after surgery.
- No difference between Wondrpak and Nobotec.
