At present no information is available about biological effect on oral tissues of the photo curing periodontal dressing Barricaid.
Animal study for histological evaluation of tissue response after 7 days after surgery.
Materials and Methods
- Barricaid, Eugenol containing Ward's Wondrpak and Corboxyl Methyl cellulose used as control.
- 2 groups
Group 1: immediately after dressing removal.
Group 2: 1 extra week for further healing
Results
- No significant differences between the 2 different dressings. The control areas showed a overall less degree of inflammation response.
- In the 2 weeks all areas healed.
- After 14 days, no differences between test and control.
