Purpose

Method for retention of periodontal dressing

Materials and Methods

• Impression in alginate, cast, heat cured resin, dressing put in the resin and placed at time of surgery.
• Excess trimmed out.
• Retainers are removed 10-14 days after surgery

Authors conclude that this method is effective for patients undergoing full mouth perio surgery under general anesthesia and also for epileptic patients. Rationale: stability of the dressing and undisplacement.
