Nezwek RA, Caffesse RG, Bergenholtz A Nasjleti CE. Connective tissue response to periodontal dressings. J Periodont, 51:521,1980

The purpose of the present in vivo study was to investigate the connective tissue reaction to Coe-Pak, PPC, and Perio Putty when implanted in dorsal areas of 26 rats. Teflon was used as control.

Results showed that the eugenol containing PPC elicited severe reaction in 95% of the implants The overall order of decreasing severity was always PPC, CP, PP and Teflon.
