E.B. "Bud" and Linda Tarrson, former owners of the John O. Butler Company, have contributed a great deal in the advancement of periodontics. One of the Tarrson's most ambitious projects is the UCLA Periodontics Information Center, a bold initiative designed to facilitate communication of the latest clinical information so that patients all around the world can benefit from clinicians who have access to state of the artdiagnostic and treatment procedures.

The Tarrsons set the wheels of progress in motion with their decision in 1994 to establish the Tarrson Family Endowed Chair in Periodontics at UCLA with a testamentary gift.
