Academic/Faculty Positions
Tenured/Tenure Track Position in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology (Posted 12/1/2008)
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), School of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time tenure-track or tenured position in the Section of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. Applicants must have a DDS or equivalent degree, and be board certified or board-eligible in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. In addition, a PhD degree in life science or biomedical research is desired. Pathologists with MD degree will also be considered. The rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. Responsibilities include teaching (predoctoral, postdoctoral, and graduate students), development of a funded research program, and participation in the Oral Pathology biopsy service. The School of Dentistry is fully integrated with the UCLA scientific community; interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research and clinical collaborations are well established and strongly encouraged. Faculty position in Biomaterials (Posted 8/14/08)
The UCLA School of Dentistry seeks for a full-time tenure or tenure track faculty (Tracking #1350-0708-03) in biomaterial sciences, commencing on July 1, 2009. The candidates should hold PhD (in biomaterial sciences or equivalent fields) and have had independent research programs and teaching experiences. The faculty is expected to teach pre- and post-doctoral students and conduct independent research with extramural research funds. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (Posted 04/14/08)
The University of California at Los Angeles, School of Dentistry, Section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, is recruiting a full-time Assistant Professor in the Clinical Series effective July 1, 2008. Primary responsibilities include teaching dental students and residents and administrative duties in the oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in clinical practice. Applicants must have a DDS or equivalent degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. Board certification is required. The Lab of Molecular Signaling has immediate openings for Postdoctoral Scholars. Our research team has broad interests in molecular regulation of inflammation, tumor metastasis and mesenchymal stem cells by NF-kB and Wnt signaling (Nature Biotechnology 2002, 20:587-59; J Biol. Chem. 2006, 281:31142-31151; Cancer Cell 2005, 8:13-23; Nature Cell Biology 2005, 7: 909-915; Nature Medicine 2007, 13:62-69). Interested applicants should be highly motivated, have a Ph.D. degree, a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, or signal transduction, and publications in internationally recognized journals. Molecular Oncology Diagnostics Research Laboratory (posted 4/5/2007)
Position(s) available immediately in a laboratory focusing on molecular
diagnostics of human cancer based on bodily fluids, particularly oral fluids
(saliva). The UCLA Oral Fluid Diagnostic Research Center is a NIDCR/NIH
-funded research center aim to harness diagnostics profiles from saliva for
early cancer detection. Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D./D.D.S. or both
with a broad background in molecular and cell biology.
