Welcome to the Division of Oral Biology and Medicine. The Division has two Sections: Oral Biology and Oral Medicine and Orofacial Pain.
We are a research-intensive division at the UCLA School of Dentistry. As a division we are committed to broadening the scientific education of the UCLA dental student and providing the fundamental research training for graduate dentists and oral health researchers interested in a career of oral health research.
The faculty in this Division are committed to broadening the basic science education of the UCLA dental students, and exploring and developing new areas of dental-related research, including Bone Biology and Bioengineering, Head and Neck Cancer, Microbiology and Immunology, and Pain research. As the home of the Oral Biology Graduate Program, offering MS and Ph.D. degrees in Oral Biology, our division faculty offer the dental student the possibility of branching out into fields beyond general and specialized practice, including full-time dental research, full and part-time teaching, and seeking a faculty positions with a growing number of dental schools nationwide.
This Division is also responsible for the administration and provides leadership for the NIH funded comprehensive T32 research training program “UCLA Fundamental Clinical Research Training Program."
