The Division of Associated Clinical Specialties has many of the School's specialty sections in it. These are the sections of Endodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontics and Orthodontics. Each section has specific responsibilities for the education of dental students and dental specialists, as well as continuing education of practicing Dentists. Each section also has active research endeavors in its area of expertise. In addition, the full time faculty treat private patients through a faculty practice. Our faculty serve our school, our university, our community and provide leadership in national and international organizations.
The division's specialty education residency programs are all recognized as being among the top programs in the world and so each year, we attract large numbers of applicants for each position. The details of these programs are:

• Endodontics - 3 students per year in a 2-year program |

• Pediatric Dentistry - 5 students per year in a 3-year program |

• Combined Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics - 2 students per year in a 4-year program (pending approval) |

• Orthodontics - 4 students per year in a 3-year program |
| |
• Periodontics - 2 students per year in a 3-year program |

As well as opportunities to pursue further education through the residency programs, students may also be involved in a combined Masters of Science or Ph. D. programs. We also have preceptor programs in each section where international students spend 3 months to a year as visiting continuing education students.
