"I decided on an academic career because of long-standing interests in teaching and research. My interest in teaching developed in college where I discovered the excitement of research during dental school. After completing my research training, I chose the UCLA School of Dentistry as it offered the most exciting combination of excellent students and opportunities for scholarship."
