Gary N. Herman, D.D.S.

 


Educational and Professional Background

Dr. Herman received his D.D.S. from UCLA in 1973.

He has 30 years of experience as a general dentist.  His areas of interest include dental ethics, patient communication and patient management.  He lectures on practical dental ethics.  He has been involved at the State-level consulting on issues related to the practice and funding of dental care.

Research/Creative Activities

He has an interest in dental ethics as they apply to practice management.

Patient Care Activities

He has been in practice for 30 years and still maintains his private practice in the San Fernando Valley.   His responsibilities at the dental school include evaluating student competency in patient management as well as assessing the quality of patient care delivered at the school.

Professional memberships and activities:

He has been active in organized dentistry, having served as President of the San Fernando Valley Dental Society and as a Delegate to the California Dental Association House of Delegates.  He is a charter member of the International Dental Ethics and Law Society.

Additional Information

He has been a member of the curriculum committee for 16 years.
