| "Early experience to research as a dental student exposed me to a world of endless possibility and great challenges. The dedication of my professors was the inspiration to combine research with patient care. My post doctoral work at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and the Forsyth Institute in Boston gave me the focus, direction and opportunities in the areas of Periodontology, Oral Medicine and Microbiology. In 1975 I returned to UCLA to join the faculty and to establish the Periodontal Microbiology Laboratory. In this supportive environment, we produced a continuous stream of research articles, abstracts, and books. UCLA’s great assembly of talented students and bright faculty make it an ideal place to be." |
