| Description: | The UCLA School of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Division of Associated Clinical Specialties, Section of Orthodontics with the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor, Step IV beginning September 1, 2009. The position will be as faculty with the Academic appointment in the Division of Associated Clinical Specialties. The duties will include the administration of the International Orthodontic program, Director of the Orthodontic clinic and the Preceptorship program: including curricula development, program implementation, research and clinical and administrative oversight. The qualified candidate will be responsible for the daily operation of the current post-doctoral clinic and academic program including: budget and income of clinic, patient care, academic content, course selection and development, content evaluation, syllabi preparation, literature and materials reviews, collaboration and interaction with faculty, program evaluation and clinical quality assurance. Curriculum development will utilize the most current treatments and applications in Orthodontics and related dental technologies including appropriate techniques and evidence-based research. Also, the candidate will be expected to develop or continue a program in research activity preferably in three dimensional imaging scanning, 3D cephalometric and finite element analyses, be committed to mentoring postdoctoral research. The minimum requirements for the position are a D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree and a current dental license in the State of California, with extensive background in orthodontics, teaching experience in an academic clinical setting. The qualified candidate should also have extensive patient care knowledge including: assesses health care needs of patients and evaluate care treatment.
